Celebrations Surrounding Earth Day April 22!

Happy Earth DayWednesday, April 22 is Earth Day, a time to celebrate nature and unite in support of the environment. First observed in the United States over 45 years ago, Earth Day has evolved to become a global effort, with annual events engaging all over the world.

In the Pocono Mountains, Earth Day celebrations are held the days surrounding this festive occasion. Local organizations join centers, parks and preserves offering public programs to honor Mother Nature and promote environmental protection.

Wildlands Conservancy considers April 18 ideal for an early Earth Day arrangement holding their Earth Day Festival from noon to 4 p.m. at Pool Wildlife Sanctuary! This free festival features sights to be seen and activities to “go green” that include rain gardens, fairy houses to solar ovens and even a mud kitchen!
