The countdown to Wally Lake Fest, ignited enthusiasm across the region with repeats and first-timers alike ready to take in the sights, sounds and sails of this increasingly popular three day event set for Friday, August 28 through Sunday, August 30. The festival now in its 6th year continues to make waves out and about Lake Wallenpaupack and downtown Hawley.
A medley of marina-wide live music churns things up Friday evening including Ehrhardt’s Waterfront Restaurant’s Lakeside Luau starting at 4 with The Quake shaking things up on stage from 9 to 1 a.m.
Saturday, takes it to the water with Wallypalooza kicking in from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. where local favorites Eric Rudy & Friends along with Barely Covered perform throughout the day on a floating stage.
Sunset sends participants paddling onshore to explore downtown Hawley filled with a Car Cruise beginning at 5, along with DJ even an Ice Cream Social! Continuous melodious options are found around practically every turn indoors and out.
Simmering into Sunday, the entertainment keeps flowing with Rock School—Making Music Matter for Kids where these performing arts students illustrate their talents at Palmyra Township Beach from noon to 6 p.m.
From the mouths of babes…An undecided Savannah O’Fee considers the pirate ship bounce house set up at Gresham’s landing as her top festival pick adding Saturday night’s free ice cream and high school marching band at AM Skier gazebo.
Mom, Sarah admits, “I love the floating stage with live music [Wallypalooza],” adding, “People hang on their boats or you can hear the music on the shoreline.”
Whether landlubber or lake-lover the consensus is in, Wally Lake Fest carries on as one of the hottest tickets in town!
