LA FESTA ITALIANA…Translation Reveals Scranton Sensations September 4th to the 7th

La Festa Italiana“The time of your life without a dime in your pocket,” is what LA FESTA ITALIANA’s Chris DiMattio considers the draw that attracts thousands to Courthouse Square 40 years running. Italian heritage sights, sounds and tastes collide with the rich culture of Downtown Scranton at this free festival September 4th through the 7th.

What DiMattio calls a Labor Day weekend “Labor of Love,” LA FESTA comes full circle with the square lending the ideal backdrop providing the feel of an Italian piazza.

Describing all performers including The Duprees as “A real gift everybody can enjoy,” he tells how this year’s concept of folding festival charm into Friday cleverly collides with the city’s familiar First Friday entertainment.

A mix of local merchants, over 80 vendors, kid’s rides and authentic Italian cuisine proves a positive plan for family friendly fun. Keeping Scranton center stage, there’s even free trolley rides from Steamtown’s Railfest to LA FESTA.

Opening doors to experience the excitement, organizers encourage all to check out what’s stirring in Scranton. LA FESTA ITALIANA runs Friday night, September 4, from 4 to 10. Saturday and Sunday is 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with Monday, Labor Day, 11 to 8 p.m.
